About Me

My photo
Welcome to my Kraft Korner on the web! When not spending time with my awesome husband or working, I love to settle into my craft room & make cards, gifts and home projects. I am going to get caught up on my scrapbooks one of these days too but right now, I am too addicted to making ANYTHING with vinyl. Thanks for stopping by - come again!

Deck the Halls with Balls of Volley

I made this thank you plaque for my SIL  who hooked me up with a large order recently. Five of our nieces play or played volleyball so I thought it would be fun to give it a try.  I saw the idea on the internet but changed it up to make it my own.   It was hard to get a good picture.  The words are in gold and the volleyballs are in green and red glitter vinyl.

Thank You Ornament

I got a large order from my SIL's co-workers sister who actually lives in another state.  It was a challenge for me (in a good way) and to thank her for the order, I sent her this ornament with her vinyl cuts.

Halloween Treat Bags

Every year we get 2 trick-or-treaters, who are our friends' children. This year I made them personalized bags with the Mini Monsters cart.   I love the Candy Corn girl!!

Gift Card Holders

I am working on a GET WELL package for a co-workers wife who just discovered she has a brain tumor and wanted to make some gift card holders.  I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge and Cuttlebug embossing folders to make these.  I couldrn't real get good detail on the embossing.

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!

Found this fun stamp at Cottage Corner in Davenport and used it with some pepperoni background paper.  *Sorry, I don't know how to get him turned right side up :-)

Birthday Cards - Iowa Hawkeyes!

I ordered this stamp set from one of my favorite scrapbooking stores in Des Moines (Outstamping Designs) and thought it would be great for "guy" cards.  Here are a few birthday cards I made to have on hand.

Front Door area - 20 x 20 Tile

I got this tile last spring when a local flooring company had a garage sale.  I bought 6 of them for $1 each and gave 3 to my mom.  Last night I was inspired to try and make something with it and this is what I came up with.   The fonts I used are Renaisaance ang Georgia. I got the big stand on sale at Hobby Lobby for $20. It was the first time I had ever seen the really large ones.

Kitchen Light Block

I made this reversible light today for our kitchen. I am using purple lights now but I may change to white at a later time to make it easier to see.

Football Theme Get Well Card

One of my bosses grandsons was injured in his last football game and is out for the season.  I offered to make a card for them to send him.  Inspiration for the card came from Cleversomeday on the SmartBuygal.com Forum.

I used Paper Doll Dress up for the football player and Peachy Keen stamps for the face.

Volleyball Frames

I made some frames for our niece to give her fellow graduating volleyball team members at the end of the season. She is going to put a collage of pictures in the frame for each girl.

I used Hobo for the font, the volleyball is from Sports Mania.  Silver vinyl on black frames from Michael's.

Christmas Platter - Green Glitter Vinyl

Here is a platter I made today using a plastic platter and some green glitter vinyl from H&H. The fonts used are Amperzand and Brock Script.

*The picture quality is poor since no matter which angle I used, the glitter reflected or looked black.

Welcome Baby!

My friend/co-worker had a baby girl and they have decorated the room with sheep. I had already made them a night light (and didn't take a picture! - what is wrong with me?) so I made another little thing for her room.

I used the Amperzand font and the sheep was just an image I downloaded.

Graduation Frames

I am really getting a head start here but I found 3 (the only 3 in the store) frames with a graduation embellishment and got them to jazz up for our nieces and nephew who graduate in the spring.

Another Tile

I didn't pick the wording for this one - my co-worker said she wanted this sign for her desk so I made her a tile!!

Tile Making Monday

Sorry for the poor picture quality. These were hard to get pics of since they are clear.

Christmas Ornaments

I am trying to get a start on my Christmas gifts this year and made some ornaments today. Love the glitter vinyl!

Heat Transfer Vinyl

I wanted to try some Heat Transfer Vinyl since I have only used it twice and haven't had the best success. Today (third times a charm) I was able to get a tshirt made for our nieces tournament this weekend.

I need to get some more HTV so I can keep in practice.

I'm Back

Sorry I haven't posted anything new for awhile, hopefully, with fall here I will start working on Christmas projects and get back in the grove of posting.

Here are some "Appetizer Plates" that I got at Target and decorated with some co-workers initials. I am going to put Christmas colored Hershey kisses on them, wrap with some colored saran wrap and give as little gifts.

Wall Vinyl - A Learning Experience

One of my first wall projects was in the laundry room with this design (before I even knew of transfer tape - WHEW!). I learned that the textured walls don't always like things to stick there. After 1/2 of the letters fell down, I put them back up by using waxed paper over the letter and my squeege to REALLY rub them on. No problems since.

Fixing Up the Place

My Brother-in-Law is moving back into a house that he was renting out and is doing a little fixing up of the place first. We had a little "New Home Shower" for him and his daughter and here is the card & gift card holder I made for him.

I LOVE the Handy Man cartridge!!

Me? Sassy?

Here is my first try with heat transfer vinyl - I love it!! It is pretty easy to work with. I did a canvas bag also.

Anniversary Candle Holders

Here are the anniversary themed candle holder's I made for my in-laws anniversary open house (with ALOT of help from my dear friend Wendy). We did 4 each of the 6 designs. They were filled with coordinating sand and the 'bigger than votive' candles from Hobby Lobby at the party. (Sorry for the poor picture quality, it was hard to get them all and show the designs with the glass)

I was "published"

I found out this glass block was shown in the Cricut Chirp, message board highlights! I feel very honored, as I feel I have intermediate skills with my Cricut, though it isn't a big deal - I am very excited!! Thanks to the board members that let me know and to my SIL Ruth who got this order for me by giving another block at a baby shower!!

Anniversary Wine Glasses

Here are some shatterproof acrylic wineglasses I made for my In-Laws 50th wedding anniversary this weekend.

Great Source for Cricut Cartridges

Today I made my second purchase from Smart Buy Gal for another cartridge. My first experience was great with fast shipping and VERY reasonable shipping charges. Today I ordered another cartridge and it has already been shipped!! Not only that, but the price dropped AFTER I ordered and paid, Kathy contacted me and told me she refunded the difference to my PayPal account. Now THAT's customer service.

So, if you are a Cricut fan in need of reasonably priced cartridges with $5 flat rate shipping and quick, service - give Kathy a try at Smart Buy Gal!!

NOTHING is safe from vinyl......

Here is a cooler I made for my SIL to give to our nephew for Christmas.

A Quick Thanks!

A quick thanks to my first four followers!! I appreciate you stopping by and checking things out! Thanks also for the very nice comments!

Lisa - you must try vinyl, if you love the Cricut now, you will find a whole new obsession with vinyl!

Christmas Coasters

Last year a good portion of my Christmas projects were coasters and ornaments. I made ornaments and coasters for my co-workers and had 2 large orders for coasters from my SIL for their teams at work. Here are a few samples. Thanks for looking!

Framed Wedding Gift

This was an off size frame I had on hand and used to make a framed name plaque, instead of a floating frame.

Lovin' the Night Lights!

I really enjoy making night lights from the Krafty Bloks from Hobby Lobby (especially when they are 50% off). I started out with night lights for children's rooms and have expanded to a night light for ANY room!
